Free 3rd grade math games

Usually ages 8–9 · Topics follow the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics

Third grade is the multiplication year. The Common Core's main goals are multiplying and dividing within 100, knowing all products of two one-digit numbers from memory by the end of the year, understanding fractions as numbers, and finding area.

Number Quest's Trail practices the 2 to 12 times tables with a hint for each one, plus missing numbers, clock reading and time problems. When tables are secure, the Climbers trail adds division, fractions and area.

  • Turn each multiplication fact into a division fact.
  • Use Practice on one table until it is mostly right, then mix tables in Sprint.
  • Ask how long until dinner, the bus or bedtime.
