Trail · ages 7–9
Usually ages 8–9 · Topics follow the National curriculum in England: mathematics programmes of study
Year 4 is the times tables year. The national curriculum expects children to recall multiplication and division facts up to 12 × 12, and pupils in England take the Multiplication Tables Check in June. They also work with four-digit numbers, negative numbers, hundredths and 24-hour time.
Number Quest's Trail practises every times table up to 12 × 12 with a hint for each one, and Sprint gives 60 seconds to answer as many as possible, good practice for a timed check. The Climbers trail adds division, fractions and decimals.
