Trail trail · ages 7–9

Free math games for 8-year-olds

Eight-year-olds are typically working on the 3, 4 and 8 times tables, adding and subtracting larger numbers in their heads, and telling the time to five minutes. This is the age where regular, short practice really pays off.

Number Quest keeps it varied: a Quest round mixes topics from the Trail, Sprint rewards speed with combos, and Number Pop makes recall feel like an arcade game. Stars and a weekly leaderboard give them something to aim for.

Tips for parents and teachers

  • Turn on a 10-minute daily goal and track the streak together.
  • Use Practice → Times tables before a Sprint to warm up.
  • If they guess, slow them down with Practice, which has no timer.
  • Ask about their buddy: unlocking the crown at a 7-day streak is a great motivator.
