Climbers trail · ages 10–12

Free math games for 12-year-olds

Twelve is a transition year: students firm up fractions, decimals and percentages while meeting negative numbers, ratios and their first algebra. Gaps from primary school show up quickly here, so revisiting them is worth it.

Number Quest lets them do both: Climbers for consolidation, and Scholars (ages 13 to 15) for integers, ratios and solving for x. Practice mode lets them pick one topic and work on it untimed.

What children usually work on at age 12

  • Fluent fraction, decimal and percent calculations
  • Word problems with several steps
  • Area and perimeter
  • A first look at integers and ratios (Scholars)
  • Simple equations such as x + 7 = 12 (Scholars)
